Classic Character with a Contemporary Twist

Classic Character with a Contemporary Twist There is something special about a bathroom that balances timeless detail with modern ease. This design brings that harmony to life -rooted in tradition, but very much made for today. The standout feature is the Lefroy Brooks Classic 1900 Tubular Basin Mixer in polished nickel. Refined and well-proportioned, it brings quiet elegance to the basin. The same thoughtful design carries through to the Lefroy Brooks Classic Concealed Thermostatic Valve and Apron Shower Head, combining classic forms with reliable, everyday performance. Warmth and texture come in with the Campden vanity unit by Vanity Hall in walnut. Beautifully made and practical too, it’s a focal point that adds depth and natural character to the room. The shower is framed by the sleek View 01 screen from The Shower Lab – minimal and refined, it keeps the space feeling light and open while providing definition where needed. To finish, the La Fayette towel warmer by Bard & Brazier in matching polished nickel adds that touch of comfort and cohesion. It’s understated but considered, echoing the tone of the whole space. This is a bathroom with soul – a quiet blend of old and new that doesn’t try too hard, but gets everything just right. start your journey

How to include a home sauna in your bathroom renovation

Bring the Spa Home: How to Add a Sauna to Your Bathroom Renovation 13 Feb 2025 Transforming your bathroom into a personal wellness retreat is a dream and a growing trend in recent years. More homeowners are investing in home saunas and hammams as a statement of luxury and a way to enhance physical and mental well-being. Once reserved for high-end spas, these features have become more accessible, seamlessly integrating into modern bathroom designs. With advances in modular technology, adding a sauna or hammam to your home has never been easier.  At Kallums Bathrooms, we make it simple with our premium Effe brand saunas and hammams. If you are wondering where to buy a sauna in Surrey or Southwest London, look no further – Kallums Bathrooms offers a wide range of high-quality saunas. When choosing the perfect sauna for your home, there are several types of saunas for you to choose from, which will define your overall experience: Choose your Sauna  Traditional Sauna This type of sauna uses a stove to heat rocks, creating a dry heat that can be adjusted by adding water to the stones to produce steam. It provides a traditional experience with high heat and low humidity. Ideal for: People who enjoy the authentic sauna experience with fluctuating temperatures. Infrared Sauna Infrared saunas use infrared light to directly heat your body rather than the air, offering a gentler heat. They are typically more compact and energy-efficient than traditional saunas. Ideal for: People with limited space or prefer a lower-temperature experience that still provides health benefits such as improved circulation. Steam Sauna Often mistaken for saunas. This option creates a humid environment by generating steam. The temperature is typically lower than a traditional sauna, but the high humidity creates a more intense feeling of heat. Ideal for: They are excellent for people who want to improve skin health and provide respiratory benefits, especially for those with allergies or sinus issues.    Proper sauna maintenance is key to ensuring longevity and optimal performance, and Effe saunas are crafted to make this process as simple as possible. Regular cleaning is essential to keep your sauna fresh and hygienic. It’s important to wipe down surfaces with a mild cleanser after each use to remove sweat and oils. The wood in Effe saunas is treated with a high-quality sealant to prevent moisture buildup and damage. In addition, ensuring proper ventilation and regularly checking for any signs of wear or malfunction will help maintain a safe and effective sauna experience. The Effe brand prioritises ease of maintenance, allowing you to enjoy your sauna with minimal hassle. Access your Space:  Space is often a key consideration when designing a sauna for your bathroom. Whether you have a spacious bathroom or a more compact area, there are several ways to integrate a sauna seamlessly into your home. Size: Make sure your bathroom has enough space to accommodate the sauna.  Location: Ideally, the sauna should be located in a corner of the bathroom or an adjacent space for easy access. Consider privacy, ventilation, and proximity to plumbing and electrical connections. At Kallums Bathrooms, we offer Effe saunas with customisable features to fit any space. Corner saunas or modular units can be an excellent solution for smaller areas. These options maximise space without compromising on functionality or comfort. If you have more room to work with, a larger, more luxurious Effe sauna or hammam can be installed as a standout feature. Make your sauna your own  Here at Kallums Bathrooms, we can help incorporate a luxurious and relaxing sauna into your bathroom designs and make it your own by adding additional amenities. Lighting: Install LED lights inside the sauna for ambient lighting. Consider mood lighting options like color-changing lights for a more relaxing atmosphere. Seating: Ensure the sauna has comfortable seating. Benches or backrests made from wood are a common feature of Effe Saunas. Storage: Include shelves or built-in storage for towels, bath products, or robes inside or near the sauna area. Our expert team at Kallums Bathrooms in Surrey is ready to help you design the perfect space, ensuring your sauna enhances the overall aesthetic and meets your wellness goals. A home sauna can become essential to your wellness routine with the right design, installation, and maintenance. Whether you opt for a traditional Effe sauna, an infrared version, or a steam room, these features offer relaxation, rejuvenation, and health benefits.  Visit our Guildford showroom to explore the luxury and craftsmanship of the Effe collection, and let our team help you create your perfect wellness sanctuary at home. Lisa Bardell’s Signature London Bathroom Renovation

Lisa Bardell’s Signature London Bathroom Renovation Kallums Bathrooms recently partnered with celebrated presenter, DJ, and gut health activist, Lisa Bardell to complete her London Bathroom Renovation. Lisa is one half of the talented duo, The Mac Twins! Lisa was looking for a local bathroom company to entrust her large, luxury bathroom renovation to, and was soon recommended Kallums Bathrooms. She loved the idea of working with a small, local family run business, and quickly arranged a consultation with us. With three bathrooms to transform (one of which was originally a kitchen that needed to be transformed into a luxurious bathroom!) Kallums were thrilled to undertake such an exciting project. Now that the bathroom renovation is complete, Ellie (our Digital Marketing Manager) caught up with Lisa for all the details on her incredible luxury bathroom renovation and how she found working with Kallums. What made you decide to undertake such a large London bathroom renovation project? From when we first had a meeting with our architects – I knew I wanted a big family bathroom as opposed to en suites. It was for sentimental reasons really, when I was younger my fondest memories are of bath time, the chats, the play, the ritual of it all… I wanted somewhere big and welcoming enough that the whole family could be in there – as chaotic as that may be… What made you choose Kallums for your bathroom renovations? My sister in law recommended Kallums and from our first meeting with Karolina I knew we were in safe hands – my husband and I were both really relaxed and open to ideas and suggestions so let her have a lot of free reign on the direction. Did you have a clear design concept in mind before starting the project? Not at all! My Pinterest board has lots of bold prints, brass and wallpaper – but that was only jump off point really. I have a bath every evening and it’s the only time of the day I’m not speaking to anyone – its my sanctuary. So splashing out on a free standing bath was a real luxury for us. What drew you to a traditional bathroom design? I really wanted to avoid loads of white spaces and marble as I wanted the main bathroom to still feel cosy, it’s quite a big space if you include the wet room too – so the big statement lights and double sink really fill the space. The wood effect floors really add to the warmth, and I love that we can have it extending right into the shower too. Do you have a favourite out of your three new bathrooms? I can’t leave the smaller bathrooms out! I love what we’ve managed to do with the space in the smaller bathrooms – there’s nothing worse than knocking knees on sinks and difficult lay outs for cloakroom bathrooms. One day I want to fill them both with pictures and trinkets, but for now I like the simplicity of the Burlington features and the wallpaper. What is your favourite part of your new bathroom? The Glamora wallpaper is honestly my favourite feature of our entire house – I can’t stop staring at it. It’s so statement without feeling too garish – I would have Glamora in every room if I could! What advice would you give for someone planning a bespoke bathroom remodel? Pick a feature or item and build everything around that… for me it was having the bath by the window and everything else cascaded from there. How was your experience working with Kallums? Incredible! They were so speedy, reliable and I wish I’d had Karolina to design the whole rest of the house with me – she got my taste (and dislikes!) immediately. West London Bathroom Refurbishment

West London Bathroom Refurbishment Full Design & Supply by Kallums Bathrooms Our expert designers at Kallums Bathrooms recently completed a stunning luxury refurbishment in West London, delivering four beautifully coordinated yet individual bathrooms: a downstairs cloakroom, master en suite, family bathroom, and shower room. The brief was clear from the outset. Our clients were drawn to the timeless elegance of natural brushed brass brassware and wanted this finish to flow consistently throughout the home, while still allowing each bathroom to express its own personality. Through thoughtful design, material selection, and detailed planning, we created four refined spaces that feel cohesive, practical, and distinctly luxurious. Downstairs Cloakroom Compact yet impactful, the downstairs cloakroom was designed to make a strong first impression. Vertical timber slatted panelling adds architectural interest and warmth, while the soft green tones introduce depth without overwhelming the space. A sculptural countertop basin is paired with brushed brass wall-mounted taps, instantly elevating the room and reinforcing the luxury feel seen throughout the home. Integrated lighting around the mirror enhances both ambience and usability, ensuring this small space feels considered, stylish, and inviting. This cloakroom perfectly demonstrates how high-quality finishes and strong design choices can transform even the most compact bathroom. Master En Suite The master en suite was the centrepiece of the project and received the most detailed design attention. The goal was to create a calm, spa-like retreat that felt indulgent yet highly functional for everyday use. Large-format marble-effect porcelain tiles bring a sense of scale and luxury, while the black-framed shower screen introduces a contemporary edge. Brushed brass brassware is used consistently across the space, from the rainfall shower and hand shower to the basin taps and controls, tying the room together and adding warmth against the neutral backdrop. A bespoke vanity unit with clean-lined drawers provides generous storage while maintaining a streamlined aesthetic. Backlit mirrors and recessed lighting were carefully planned to enhance the overall atmosphere, offering soft, flattering illumination that adapts seamlessly from morning routines to evening relaxation. The result is a beautifully balanced en suite bathroom that feels timeless, elegant, and effortlessly luxurious – a true private sanctuary within the home. Family Bathroom Designed with both style and practicality in mind, the family bathroom needed to cater to daily use while still reflecting the overall design vision of the house. Deep green wall tiles introduce colour and texture, creating a rich backdrop for the brushed brass fixtures used throughout the space. A freestanding bath becomes the focal point, offering a relaxing bathing experience, while cleverly integrated storage ensures the room remains clutter-free. The combination of durable materials, thoughtful lighting, and refined finishes makes this a family bathroom that works hard without compromising on aesthetics. The Shower Room The shower room completes the project with a clean, contemporary feel. Soft green tiles are used once again to maintain visual continuity, while frameless glass and streamlined fittings keep the space feeling light and open. A walk-in shower with brushed brass controls delivers both style and performance, and discreet niches provide practical storage without disrupting the clean lines of the design. This room is a perfect example of how thoughtful detailing can elevate a functional space into something special. A Cohesive Luxury Bathroom Design This West London project showcases our ability to deliver fully coordinated multi-bathroom refurbishments, balancing consistency with individuality. By using brushed brass as a unifying element and tailoring layouts, materials, and lighting to each space, we created four bathrooms that feel connected yet unique. At Kallums Bathrooms, we specialise in luxury bathroom design and supply, guiding our clients from concept through to completion. If you are planning a bathroom renovation in London or the surrounding areas, our experienced design team would be delighted to help bring your vision to life. start your journey

Two Bathroom Renovation West London

A Two Bathroom Renovation West London Our expert contracts team was commissioned by Green County Developments to deliver a luxury renovation of two bathrooms in West London, transforming tired and outdated spaces into elegant, functional sanctuaries. Bathroom One – Freestanding Bath Sanctuary The first bathroom was reimagined as a refined retreat, with the layout carefully reworked to improve flow and maximise visual impact. A sculptural freestanding bath was positioned as the focal point of the space, creating a strong sense of calm and luxury from the moment you enter. To maintain a clean, uncluttered aesthetic, wall-mounted vanity units and recessed mirrored cabinets were integrated to provide discreet, highly functional storage. Lighting was layered to enhance the atmosphere, combining feature lighting with soft LED accents to create a warm, relaxing glow throughout the room. Material choices brought depth and character to the design. Large-format marble wall tiles were paired with herringbone flooring and handcrafted Zellige tiles, adding texture and a sense of timeless craftsmanship while maintaining a cohesive, elegant palette. Bathroom Two – Intelligent Design for a Challenging Layout The second bathroom presented a more complex spatial challenge, with an awkward first-floor layout requiring thoughtful planning and precision detailing. Our design focused on maximising every inch of space while maintaining a seamless, clutter-free finish. Through careful reconfiguration, we created a bathroom that feels both open and balanced, without compromising on comfort or practicality. Clever storage solutions, refined finishes, and a considered lighting scheme work together to enhance both functionality and ambience. As with the first bathroom, premium products were specified throughout, including pieces from Arteform, IdeaGroup, Victoria + Albert, The Shower Lab, Stone and Ceramic Warehouse, Alice Ceramica, Wet Room Materials, Astro Lighting, and Thermosphere. The result is two distinctly designed bathrooms, each tailored to its space, yet united by a shared sense of understated luxury and intelligent design, leaving our clients absolutely delighted. start your journey Why choose us for your next bathroom renovation?
