From when we first had a meeting with our architects – I knew I wanted a big family bathroom as opposed to en suites.
It was for sentimental reasons really, when I was younger my fondest memories are of bath time, the chats, the play, the ritual of it all… I wanted somewhere big and welcoming enough that the whole family could be in there – as chaotic as that may be…
My sister in law recommended Kallums and from our first meeting with Karolina I knew we were in safe hands – my husband and I were both really relaxed and open to ideas and suggestions so let her have a lot of free reign on the direction.
Not at all! My Pinterest board has lots of bold prints, brass and wallpaper – but that was only jump off point really.
I have a bath every evening and it’s the only time of the day I’m not speaking to anyone – its my sanctuary. So splashing out on a free standing bath was a real luxury for us.
I really wanted to avoid loads of white spaces and marble as I wanted the main bathroom to still feel cosy, it’s quite a big space if you include the wet room too – so the big statement lights and double sink really fill the space.
The wood effect floors really add to the warmth, and I love that we can have it extending right into the shower too.
I can’t leave the smaller bathrooms out! I love what we’ve managed to do with the space in the smaller bathrooms – there’s nothing worse than knocking knees on sinks and difficult lay outs for cloakroom bathrooms.
One day I want to fill them both with pictures and trinkets, but for now I like the simplicity of the Burlington features and the wallpaper.
The Glamora wallpaper is honestly my favourite feature of our entire house – I can’t stop staring at it. It’s so statement without feeling too garish – I would have Glamora in every room if I could!
Pick a feature or item and build everything around that… for me it was having the bath by the window and everything else cascaded from there.
Incredible! They were so speedy, reliable and I wish I’d had Karolina to design the whole rest of the house with me – she got my taste (and dislikes!) immediately.
